What is a Boy Scout Court of Honor?
Three or four times a year each Boy Scout troop honors it's Scout's achievements with a Court of Honor. All Scout's show up in full uniform and are recognized by their troop with rank advancement and merit badges. A Scout will earn his rank prior to a Court of Honor and does hold that new rank the day all requirements are completed and signed off. Courts are held to officially acknowledge rank advancement.
Occasionally, a very special Court is held when a Scout achieves the rank of Eagle Scout. This is a rare occurrence in most troops, but in Troop 21 we see Eagle Courts of Honor quite often. Only 2-4% of all Boy Scout's nationally ever achieve rank of Eagle Scout, so if you come across an Eagle you've found a rare bird indeed.
Please take advantage of all the great Courts of Honor coming up over the next two months because most troops rarely see the high level of accomplishment attained by our Troop 21 Scouts.
