Your name and $100 to Rusty Watkins is all that is needed to reserve a spot for Cherry Valley August 8-14, 2010. Cherry Valley is the most popular Boy Scout summer camp in the Western United States, so spots fill up quickly.

Cherry Valley is for boys 11 to 18 years old. For the 11 to 13 year olds there are numerous merit badge classes. The 14 and 15 year olds participate in the Advance Camper program involving wind sailing and other special fun activities that challenge their physical and leadership abilities. Scouts 16 and older are encouraged to take a leadership role for the summer.

All scouts can participate in water sports (including rowing, snorkeling, canoeing, sailing, and swimming), hikes over mountainous terrain, war canoe races, sea labs, wilderness survival, archery, and marksmanship with 22cal rifles.

Sign up for Troop’s Annual Fundraiser

Please sign up for parking duty January 1-3. This is our troop’s only fundraiser and we ask that all scouts participate in helping to raise the funds needed to run the troop for 2010. We use Paz Naz’s parking lot to provide parking for those that are viewing the Rose Parade floats after the parade and the next few days. While it’s not very long, it is a lot of fun.

We will also need volunteers to help re-paint the signs and other maintenance and repairs.

A New Eagle for Troop 21- Tucker Fredrickson

While we were all enjoying our Annual Troop 21 Christmas Party and Eagle Court of Honor Monday, December 7th (Pearl Harbor Day), Tucker Fredrickson was attending his Eagle Board of Review. Tucker passed with flying colors and we are proud to announce Tucker Fredrickson as our newest Eagle, bringing the number of Eagle Scouts from Troop 21 to 101.
